I even changed the L293D for a L298N that has lower voltage drops (I fed it with 6V and the motor was receiving the 6V) and is capable of driving higher currents, but it also made no difference. I noticed that the L293D circuit drops some voltage, and instead of receiving 6V the motor was receiving a bit over 3V, so I fed the L293D with 9V instead of 6V and the motor was receiving around 5.8V, but it made no difference (beside moving faster). I've tried all PWM frequencies that the microcontroller can create and the higher the frequency the higher the duty cycle has to be to make the motor rotate.īut if I use a power supply, directly connected to the motor, it works perfectly, for any voltage. The voltage at VsenseA and B was about 0.08V. Everything run ok, L298's temperature just as normal. It's mean the current flow through coil just about 1.5A

At full wave (both phase on), the voltage was about 1.25V. I measure voltage on Vsense A and B of L298. But after L298 shutdown, motor halted, too. When i use 12VDC for motor supply, L298 become extremely hot after 3-4 minutes. resistor for current sensing are 0.8 Ohm Atmega8 using 2 channel PWM as fast PWM at 16kHz, PB0, PB5 for enable signal to L298. Motor: vexta (take from old printer), 2.2V, 3A, 0.75Ohm, unknown inductance, 1.8 degree step Hope you guys can give me a clue for this project.įirstly, I attach here my schematic and my real board.
